About Me

Hi! My name is Analicia Garcia and I am from Brownsville, Texas. I am currently a Senior at Southern Methodist University and am majoring in Public Relations and Strategic Communication and Human Rights. I love spending my time outside of school practicing yoga and volunteering at the local animal shelter around the DFW area. Below I have provided five pieces of work I completed during my internship at Legacy Hall in Plano, Texas.  At the bottom of my portfolio, I have provided an attachment of my resume which shows my work experience along with school coursework that has enabled me to gain a significant amount of exposure in the field of communications.

• Summer Movie Series: Anchorman  

 

OK before we start, let’s go over the ground-rules ……

On May 1st Legacy Hall will be screening Anchorman on our 24-ft. screen in the Box Garden at 8pm.

Grab some brisket nachos from Carlton Provisions to share with friends, or enjoy one of their yummy sandwiches (brisket, pork, turkey, or sausage) all to yourself. Don’t forget to save room for some house baked cookies!

2. Summer Movie Series: Back to the Future

Wonder what Doc Brown would say about 2019…. 🤔

On May 8th Legacy Hall will be screening Back to the Future on our 24-ft. screen in the Box Garden at 8pm.

Grab some duck fat fries from Roots Chicken to share with friends, or enjoy one of their duck fat fried chicken wings all to yourself. Don’t forget to save room for dessert …The House Waffle pop from Press Waffle will hit the spot!

On May 15th Legacy Hall will be screening When Harry Met Sally on our 24-ft. screen in the Box Garden at 8pm.

Grab whatever your significant other gets… whether that be sharable nachos (chicken or beer) from High Bar Kitchen, or an authentic German style hot dog from Degenhardt’s Brat Haus. Don’t forget to save room for dessert! Haute Sweets has all your sweet tooth cravings….from ice cream sandwiches, to macaroons and an assortment of cookie flavors!

There are many emerging artists that have potential to become superstars, yet few ever pass on to becoming influential musicians. Singing talent shows and social media have provided platforms for vocalist to be discovered. Although, these channels have the ability to introduce new songwriters the world does not forget music made in the 60’s.

So, what is it about old rock that moves the young generation? A musician that has kept the interest of people from different age groups is Paul McCartney. At seventy six years of age Sir McCartney can be categorized as the most influential musician of the world. Some of his greatest hits Hey Jude, Let It Be, and FourFiveSeconds could be recited by the majority of both young and old adults. McCartney was primarily known as being a member of The Beatles but went on to being a solo musician when the band broke up in 1970. Additionally, he has won an astounding twenty-one Grammies with six being from his solo career. More of his accomplishments include being Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For more information regarding McCartneys achievements click here.

He continues to make top hits and still performs at acclaimed venues. One of his most recent collaborations was with Rihanna and Kanye West, two well-known musicians outside McCartney’s music genre. Yet, their collaboration produced two hit singles that combined surfaced over three hundred and fifty million views on YouTube. Furthermore, McCartney will be a top head liner at Austin City Limits this year and is projected to be the performer with the largest audience. Austin360 blogged about McCartney and how he will be the most legendary singer to ever to play at the music festival. Us Yogis

Yogi a common term used to describe us students in the yoga community. Never do we discriminate against anyone and all are always welcomed to practice their yoga at CorePower. We are located Dallas, Texas and can be found at these three locations: Knox Henderson, Mockingbird Station, and Preston Forest. Here, every level of fitness can be found! For individuals who have never practiced yoga they are able to enter this community with a free first week. Read more here about your first free week.  This week allows outsiders to understand what we yogis love about the spiritual connection we experience while practicing yoga.

Every class starts with an inspirational quote that stimulates us to flow with purpose. Flowing is a common term used in our community, it refers to how our bodies move smoothly which each changing yoga position. These classes are hot, and I mean hot! Each yoga session offered at CorePower is sixty minutes long and can reach up to eight five degrees. Which is why breathing is so important. We are expected to inhale and exhale fully with every movement our bodies do. This allows for our bodies to recover and prepare for the next yoga position. Soon enough the class is over, and we are energized with amazing fulfillment.

Every yoga session ends the same way it begins. The instructor reemphasizes the inspirational quote they began class with. This allows us yogis to reflect back on our practice and acknowledge how hard our bodies worked. Prior to the dismissal of class, the instructor will say, “The light in me honors the light in you,” we precede by bowing simultaneously and saying “Namaste.” In our community this shows how we recognize and respect the energy or “light” each of us had in class.

We challenge more people to come try out our amazing close-knit community. Here at CorePower we hope to help everyone find their inner light and let it shine.
